Minutes
Joyce brought the meeting to order to discuss nominations on the new chair person for this committee. Shawn Lahey was elected as the new chair. Also, Nikki McNally and Cindy Albert are new members of the committee this year and Nikki was elected to take minutes. This committee will meet monthly on Thursdays @ 1:00 p.m. in the conference room on the 3rd floor.
There were a couple items brought to the table for discussion. The SWOT report mentioned some things needed to be done about the Christie lobby. Renovations went forward and are pretty much complete. This item was brought up as a review of the committee’s work last year and result of that work.
There were concerns about the adjunct faculty orientation. A question was asked if they received the new handbook, the handbook is still in the process. Also, there should be administrative coverage Monday through Thursday for any issues they have.
A suggestion was made to give a list of items to the Management Team that we as a committee want to resolve before we discuss them in meetings.
Most of the discussion at this meeting was concerning an issue we have on campus with double scheduling. Cindy mentioned she scheduled a trio workshop back in May and Husson classes were scheduled in the same room. This scheduling portion of the issue is being discussed by Management Team and others, the committee will hold off on this unless asked to pursue a better method. The committee will discuss possible corrective procedures for the current system and the communication trouble amongst all involved in the actual scheduling of rooms. This has been put on the next meeting agenda.
Another item that there was a concern about was about packages. The room that was Frank’s old office has been cleaned out but packages are put outside of the room and nobody knows when they receive packages. It was mentioned that students deliver the packages at night. There seems to be no receiving just purchasing. All packages that come in through Fed Ex, UPS, and other parcel services should be signed by the bookstore. This topic will be discussed further at the next meeting to streamline the process of receiving packages and letting people know when their package is available.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 11, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Conference Room. Last changed: Oct 04 2007 at 11:28 AM
