Lab equipment and supplies     If you are in need of any items, complete a requisition.
    Informational    
    There are budgets for each site and also for medical assisting.     Be conservative    
    Discussion about blood pressure cuffs.  Mary mentioned that it seems there are fewer cuffs
than before.  WCCC has three blood pressure
cuffs, but they don’t have a large cuff.     

Mary will send a large cuff back with Teena.     
    The account number for educational supplies is 7240.  Will need to order some new lab supplies.

    Betty reminded faculty that these need to be turned in.    Informational     
Safety Training    Angela and Tammy are in need of this.

Committees



    
Need representatives for professional development and faculty management committees.  Mary has been the representative for professional develop-ment for a number of years.  

Betty inquiring if anyone is interested in being the representative for faculty management commit-tee?  She indicated that it is vitally important that the department have a voice on that committee.
    
Mary agreed to serve on that com-mittee again; everyone is in agree-ment.


No one is interested at this time.    
Administrative coverage in the evenings.     Betty informed us that the department chairs will be covering one night each week.  

Question of what the purpose is?     Betty will be working on Wednesday evenings.  

Reason being is for communication purposes; in the event there are any needs as there are a lot of adjunct faculty.  
    
Leadership team





Boone lecture


    Tim is establishing a leadership team with some representatives from other parts of the campus.  Purpose is to be able to make decisions that are not at the management team level.  They will
meet every other week.

Reminder of this annual lecture sponsored by TAMC and UMPI.  Will be on October 1 at 5:30 at the UMPI Campus Center.    Informational





If students are interested in attending, a slot could be reserved for them.    
Book for review





Topic
    Betty has a book “Complete Directory for People with Chronic Illness” which she would like faculty to review for possible purchase by the library.  



Discussion
    Peggy would like to carry books that have been recommended by faculty.




Decision
    
Info night at Houlton    Will be held at Houlton Higher Education Center on October 4.    Deborah will be representing the department.    
            
Nursing Advisory Committee Meeting     Scheduled for November 5, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Betty will need to review the membership list.

Marilyn will need to do a work order for food.    Let Betty know if you have suggestions for members.

    
Re-applications     We have four who have reapplied for spring semester.    Time will be set to meet with students.  Will be important for Teena to be in attendance for the WCCC students.    

Coordinator’s meeting     
Need to set time for a meeting.         
            
Department committees     Question of whether faculty want to remain on the same committees or change.
    Everyone in agreement to remain on same committees.    
    SNA—Paula reported; they haven’t met this year.  Would like to get some Level I students interested.

Program Evaluation—They are going to start meet-ing the last Monday of each month, starting in October.

Curriculum—Roberta inquiring if they could meet on October 15 and November 19 at 10 a.m. and at 11 a.m. on December 10?

    Test Review—Mary is looking at the following dates and times to meet:  September 17, October 15,
November 26 and December 10 at 1 p.m.

Social committee—Birthday luncheon today.

Discussion

Pinning Ceremony—Sue will be serving on this com-mittee.  It was suggested that the ceremony be held at Skyway Middle School this year.  
    Meeting times and dates agreed upon.




Decision

It was decided that WCCC students come here and participate in the ceremony and not have one of their own as in previous years.
    
Fall and Winter Sports Recre-ation Show at the forum     Daryl has rented a booth for nursing and EMS stu-dents to do a health fair.  Focus will be on health education and safety.     Informational; senior students in NUR 226 will use this opportunity to do the assigned teaching projects for the Fall.    
Semester start-up     Any concerns?     None mentioned.     
            
Other    There were 30 students who attended tutoring.  

Sue mentioned that she couldn’t hear the students from WCCC very well.         
Testing     First year students will be testing on Friday in room 208.     It was decided that the password be given to one student at a time.
    
Reminders




    Betty reminded faculty about their TB tests and also BLS.  Question of what time is good for Level I next week?

Faculty were reminded that there isn’t any travel money for clinical.    BLS will be at 9 a.m. on September 24.
