It was moved, seconded and approved minutes from the September 24 meeting as modified (Dan Butts was absent).
2. Nursing and Allied Health – Modification of classroom hours for EMS215
The committee moved, seconded and approved EMS215-Advanced Emergency Pharmacology from a 2 credit course to a three. The classroom hours for this course will change from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This change will also reflect the total credit hours of the AAS degree – Emergency Medical Services from 69 to 70 total credit hours. The Paramedicine Certificate Program total credit hours of 27 to 28 total credit hours.
3. Trades and Technology and Continuing Education
A. Industrial Electrical Maintenance Certificate
B. Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Certificate
The Certificate Program Proposal “Industrial Mechanical Maintenance” was moved, seconded and approved with the following amendment: PHE124-Ergonomics & Occupational Wellness Conditioning is required for the new certificate program. It was suggested that a broader discussion regarding the requirement of PHE124 in the other programs should take place in the committee at a later meeting date.
Robert White has concerns and does not agree with the ELS 114 lab course that is listed on the new program proposal “Industrial Electrical Maintenance Certificate”. This course is not appropriate for this program, in his opinion.
4. Other Business
Dr. Punches told the committee that he needs all instructors in the academic area to start focusing on the prerequisites and course requirements before the next new catalog is printed.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:55 p.m. The next scheduled meeting will be Monday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. (Note: that meeting was not held) Last changed: Dec 05 2007 at 9:55 AM
