Environmental Health & Safety Minutes:
The committee moved to accept the April 11th minutes. In regards to the minutes the committee should follow up on the items that were discussed at the previous meeting. Graduation a) Crew is needed to help with parking; maintenance and PIPD will be assisting. b) Carl will be in charge of making sure the sound system and wiring is set up safely. MMA Safety Grant a) Grant is to purchase desks and eye wash station, desks are purchased due to ergonomic reasons. Z Kits a) These kits will be used in the shops on campus. Servicing is needed for these kits. b) A suggestion was first aid bags w cabinet be located near the AED units. c) The student health nurse, Linda Mastro has money in her budget for first aid and CPR training. (1) Linda will meet with Bill on ordering First aid kits and modifying the policy. Review policy to use bigger kits. Band aids should be available throughout the offices on campus without having to break seal on First aid kits. First Responders a) Heart savers first aid and AED cards needs to be updated. The cards expire on October 25th. An AED unit needs to be put in the energy lab. Safety Training a) Carl needs a list of adjunct instructors to finish with the safety training. A few instructors need training for the authorized lockout/tagout. Around the table a) Linda suggested being included in the safety walk as an occupation role. b) Tim suggested adding health & wellness to safety check on the charge. Linda would like to be included to this committee.
