Discussion of minutes from March 12, 2010 - Minor corrections were made to the minutes. Greg Thompson was NOT present at the March 12, 2010 meeting and Tim Crowley WAS present. Some spelling errors were noted. The minutes were M/S/A. Review of Camera Policy – A draft has been completed by the safety committee and presented to the F/M committee. The safety committee has a large representation of the faculty who will be most affected by the surveillance cameras being installed so the draft has addressed many of their concerns. As with all policies, an annual review of the policy will be conducted. It was also clarified that there will be NO at-home access by anyone from NMCC and that the only off-campus access is by the police and fire departments. Greg had a question regarding procedure of installation. He wanted to know if there was a procedure in place for what areas will receive cameras first. Tim responded that it will be based on a prioritized list with areas with high dollar value equipment and areas that are too easily accessed with no visibility will be the first on the list. The tentative areas of installation presented to Trade & Tech previously will be used. He also added that the lighting retrofit will need to be completed before the cameras can be installed. Chuck will bring the draft of the camera policy to the faculty association for approval at their next meeting. Review and Approval of Spring 2010 compensation for large classes final list - At this time, the faculty members who qualify for large class overload compensation are Dave Raymond, John Price, Heidi Broad-Smith, Greg Thompson, and the nursing department. A planned compensation is already in place for nursing. The current faculty in a class size overload position will be compensated based on the attached document (10/06/09 Faculty Compensation Proposal). This is a ONE-TIME compensation and should in no way be assumed to be an agreement for future incidents. The proposal was M/S/A. Academic Calendar – A draft of a two-year academic calendar is included with this document. The faculty contract states that any academic semester that exceeds 16 consecutive weeks needs to be agreed upon by the association. The draft will be presented to faculty for approval at their next meeting. Meeting adjourned 12:58 pm. Next Meeting - Friday, April 16th, 2010 at 12 noon in the 3rd floor conference room.
