The following curriculum items were moved, seconded and approved:


Trade & Technology

·         TEC111-Building Science I – Add a lab component to the existing lecture. Lecture will be reduced from 3 hours to 1.5 hours and 0 lab hours increased to 3 hours in the lab.

·         TEC121-Building Science II – Add a lab component to the existing lecture. Lecture will be reduced from 3 hours to 1.5 hours and 0 lab hours increased to 3 hours of lab.

·         AUT229-Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning  - change pre-requisite to AUT125-Automotive Electronics

·         New course proposal: AUT2XX-Advanced Electronics Systems ( 2 class/2 lab/3 credits)                                                                                  

·         New course proposal: COE2XX-Introduction to Computer Forensics (2 class/lab/3 credits)

Arts & Sciences

·         New course proposal: HPR1XX-Lifelong Wellness (3 credits) (This course HPR1XX can be substituted for PHE124-Ergonomics & Occupational Wellness Conditioning) this course will replace PHE124 in the Liberal Studies AA degree curriculum.

Business Technology

·         Name change: SES118-Information Management I change to Information and Records Management

·         Name change: SES244-Medical Machine Transcription to Medical Transcription

·         New course proposal: Medical Office Law and Ethics (3 credits)

·         New course proposal: Electronic Health Record (4 credits)

·         Revise Medical Office Curriculum. Courses have been added and some courses have been dropped. (A list was provided to each of the committee members)

 

Nursing/Emergency Medical Services

 

·         Name change: EMS109-First Responder to EMS1XX-Emergency Medical Responder  2 class hours, 2 lab hours and a total of 3 credits.

·         Add BIO120-A&P w/lab and BIO130 A&P II w/lab to the Paramedicine Certificate program. This is

·         Wednesday, at 4:00 PM. to meet national accreditation requirement.

Medical Assisting Program

  • New course proposal: Medical Assisting Office Procedures (3 credits) on the condition of a revised syllabus. (The revised syllabus was received 03/21/2011)
  • New course proposal: Medical Assisting Externship (5 credits)
  • The program itself Medical Assisting that includes new courses being offered by business technology and nursing allied health

The curriculum was adjourned at 5:10 PM
