Charge: This committee considers curriculum or course proposals generated by department chairs/faculty or by the academic dean in response to unique service area needs and recommends to the academic dean action on the same.

1.     The committee decided to set a deadline to have all updated course descriptions, pre-requisites and co-requisites completed by February 15, 2010.

 

2.     Minutes from the January 25, 2010 meeting was moved, seconded and approved except for a few  revisions.  (The revisions to the 01/25 minutes were made 01/28 and emailed out to the committee.)

 

Business Tech. Department

 

3.     It was moved, seconded and approved the new course proposal CIS1XX-Introduction to PC Operating Systems.

 

It  was moved, seconded and approved to remove BUS242-Small Business Management and replace it on the curriculum with BUS109-Entrepreneurship.

 

It was moved, seconded and approved to replace CIS107-Intro to Computer Applications with CIS113-Intro to Microcomputer Applications. This course change will effect all the Business Tech programs as well as the Early Childhood program.

 

      Trade & Tech Department

 

4.     It was moved, seconded and approved to change the credit hours for the course ELE114-Basic Residential Wiring from a 1 credit hour to 3 credit hours.

 

Brian withdrew two of his revision proposals PMM120-Intro to CNC Programming, Setup and Operation 3 credit course and PMM210-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing 3 credit course. The committee voted 2-2 (tie) on both proposals. Most of the group did not agree with the split in credit hours.

 

 

 

The meeting was adjourned.
