Old Business – Minutes from December 10, 2007

The minutes from the December 10 meeting was moved, seconded and approved with following amendments:

Under 3 C. remove the sentence – It was proposed to add ACC1XX-Computerized Accounting and ACC1XX-Payroll Accounting to Office Assistant Certificate program and remove COM212-Business Communications I.

3f. add Computer Systems Technology to the sentence regarding the replacement of a Math/Science elective with MAT-115 Business Mathematics.


Business Technology Department – Course & Curriculum Proposals

It was moved, seconded and approved to add the following new courses:

BUS1XX-Entrepreneurship
ACC1XX-Computerized Accounting
ACC1XX-Payroll Accounting

It was moved, seconded and approved the make the following changes:

Add ACC1XX-Computerized Accounting and ACC1XX-Payroll Accounting and remove COM212-Business Communications I to the Office Assistant Certificate program.

The course prerequisite changes to BUS239-Human Resource Management are to replace BUS-Principles of Management prerequisite with COM212-Business Communications I as a prerequisite. Take the course BUS241-Principles of Marketing and remove CIS107-Intro. To Computer Applications as a prerequisite and keep COM12-Business Communications I and add “or instructor’s permission.” Take the course BUS242-Small Business Management and remove all prerequisites except for COM212-Business Communications I and the prerequisite should read “Senior level standing in the Business Administration Program and COM212-Business Communications I or permission of the instructor.

Change the Accounting Information Systems program by replacing MAT210-Statistics with MAT115-Business Mathematics.

Replace the Math/Science elective with MAT-115 Business Mathematics in both the Business Administration program and the Computer Systems Technology program.

Nursing and Allied Health Department -  Pre-requisite changes

It was moved, seconded and approved to make the following change to EMS205-Medical Emergencies course content to revise to remove lab component and increase lecture. The lab experience covered in EMS115-Fundamentals of EMS where lecture content reduced to accommodate increase in lab.

Also the committee moved, seconded and approved the name changes for the following courses:

EMS119-Intermediate Field Externship change name to EMS1XX-Intermediate Clinical Externship I

EMS128-Intermediate Clinical Preceptor change name to EMS1XX-Intermediate Clinical Externship II

EMS224-Paramedic Clinical Preceptorship change name to EMS2XX-Paramedic Clinical Externship I

EMS218-Paramedic Field Externship change name to EMS2XX-Paramedic Clinical Externship II.

Arts and Sciences Department – Prerequisite Changes

The committee moved, seconded and approved to remove ECE195 from ECE197 and add to ECE197 that reads “Pre/corequisite: ECE101 and ECE105.

Miscellaneous


A reminder that the Certificate/Ergonomics Task Force Committee will meet January 23, Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

The next scheduled Curriculum Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, February 5 at 3:00 p.m., third floor of the Martin building, conference room.
