Course outline formats will differ by department, but all should follow these guidelines when designed.
Required:
- Course Department
- Course Number & Title
- Effective Date
- Faculty
- Faculty Office Hours
- Pre/Co-Requisites
- Scope (credit hours/total lecture, lab, clinical hours)
- Materials (student furnished)
- Course Objectives
- Student Evaluation Criteria (instructor grading policies)
- Course Outline (schedule of major assignments, topics, exams, papers, projects, Field trips, etc.)
Optional:
- Course Bibliography (sources used for course content other than assigned text(s), additional readings, resources, etc.)
- Additional Course Information (instructor background, course background, instructor expectations, etc.)
