Charge: This committee is charged to facilitate smooth, efficient and collaborative operation between the various campus offices and to communicate necessary revision to the appropriate campus constituency.
Minutes
1. Approval Minutes December 06, 2006
The minutes from December 6 meeting was moved, seconded and approved.
2. Summary of Findings – Weaknesses - #1. The campus considered the biggest weakness is the lack of absence of communication within/between office and/or departments at the College.
The committee decided that we could improve the lack of communication on campus with the following three recommendations:
Have “Mandatory Staff Meetings” within in departments at least monthly. The reason for this recommendation is certain departments are not getting feedback from the Management Team meetings. They feel that they should be informed about any changes or information that would impact their office area.
Provide Management Team minutes to all employees.
E-mail should be sent out to all employees when NMCC events are taking place on campus. (Example: student testing, at least a week before testing takes place and not the day of the testing.)
3. Adjunct Faculty Handbook
Dan Butts told the group that he and Shawn Lahey have completed the Adjunct Faculty Handbook and Dr. Punches now has it on his desk to review.
4. The Ordering and Receiving of Supplies
The committee felt that there is still a safety and security problem with supplies. Packages and boxes are still being left out in the corridor by Frank Boone’s office. The concern was who do we call to have these packages/boxes delivered? Joyce Campbell will check with Larry LaPlante and ask if there is a process/procedure in the delivery of packages/boxes.
5. The next Campus Communications meeting is scheduled for March 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., on the third floor of the Martin building, conference room.
