The Evacu-Trac training was completed on December 3rd.  There were only 3 faculty members that attended the training.  We would like to see more faculty trained.  It was suggested that a training session be included in the faculty administrative day at the beginning of the semester.  Security and Husson should also attend the training the next time it is held.

Anita Day, of the System Office notified us of EPA changes on lab hazardous waste.  The hazardous waste can be shipped out for testing instead of having someone come on campus to pick it up.  This information doesn’t really pertain to our campus as our labs are concerned.

The Safety Works Review will be held on January 27th & 28th. A special meeting may be called of the Safety Committee if Sam Knight wants to meet with the group.

CES updated the integrated contingency plan.  The evacuation plan of rooms was added.  It will be reviewed this month and should be finalized by January.  Training will be done for the maintenance and custodial staff on spill containment.

The MMA inspection hasn’t been received yet but we started fixing some minor problems that we were mentioned.

Larry mentioned that Safety Works offers a variety of safety training workshops locally.  When a current schedule is available he will distribute it to the committee.

A 10-hr OSHA card training should be available for, at least, all safety committee members. The committee has talked about this in the past and will revisit this possibility.

It was mentioned that all slips, trips and falls should be reported to the Director of Finance as soon as possible.

Tom mentioned that there is a 4th AED in the Residential Life area and the staff has been trained and has access to it.  AED/CPR has a recommended renewal of every 2 years and is has been almost two years since the last AED/CPR training session for employees.  We will open this again and try to get training set up for the spring.

The next meeting is scheduled for February 11th.
