Charge: This committee considers curriculum or course proposals generated by department chairs/faculty or by the academic dean in response to unique service area needs and recommends to the academic dean action on the same.

Approval of Minutes:

 The November 3, 2011 minutes were moved, seconded and approved by the committee.

Arts & Sciences -

 

  • The following agenda items were moved, seconded, and approved by the committee:

 

    • BIO218-Microbiology Lecture & Lab modify prerequisite to: BIO114-Human Biology w/Lab OR BIO130—Anatomy & Physiology II w/Lab

 

    • BIO120-Anatomy & Physiology w/Lab REPLACES prerequisite BIO114-Human Biology w/Lab WITH Recommendation: high school biology and chemistry with labs that are less than 10 years ago, or BIO 114.

 

o   Prerequisite changes: PHI 206, HIS 203 drop ENG 111 prerequisite

o   Prerequisite changes: ENG 223, COM 210 change ENG 111 prerequisite to co-requisite.

  • The following agenda items were tabled for the next scheduled Curriculum Committee meeting:

o   General Education Core revisions

 

 Business Technology

 

  • The following agenda items were tabled for the next scheduled Curriculum Committee meeting:

 

o   Medical Coding Curriculum Revision

o   Office Administration Curriculum Revision

o   Entrepreneurship Certificate program

o   New course: Project Management

 

The next scheduled Curriculum Committee meeting will be December 8, Thursday at 3:00 pm, 3rd floor conference room of the Martin building.
