Policy #: 6740:02
Subject: College Name, Logo, and Seal
Section: Administrative
Effective: November, 1994
COLLEGE NAME
The official college name is Northern Maine Community College. When using the name in print, the first reference to the college should be Northern Maine Community College to emphasize the name, after which “NMCC” is an appropriate acronym. No periods are used between the letters.
When there is a need to refer to the college and not use the name, the best references are “the college”, “the campus” and “the institution”.
COLLEGE SEAL
The college seal may be used only on transcripts, diplomas, certificates, and awards. The official seal reads “Northern Maine Community College” and carries the date “1961”. Use of the college seal is restricted to official business only and should be no larger than two inches in diameter.
The only exception to the policy is for collegiate materials in the bookstore, and that use is subject to approval by the Director of Development and College Relations.
COLLEGE LOGO
The college logo may be used on stationery and business cards and must be used on all printed materials.
Camera-ready art of the college seal and logo may be obtained from the development office. Questions regarding appropriate use of the seal and logo should be directed to the Development Office. Last changed: Mar 08 2007 at 3:14 PM
