Section:     Administrative (6700-6799)
Effective:   November, 1994

The Director of Development and College Relations is responsible for all publication activity for Northern Maine Community College.  To maintain a standard of quality, appearance, and consistency of presentation in college publication, all publications are to be channeled through the development office, which reserves the right to reject unsuitable style, language, photos, and/or artwork presented for publication.

Samples of typical styles, etc., as well as preliminary consultation and suggestions are available upon request.  The development office encourages preliminary inquiries on new projects being undertaken.

The Director of Development and College Relations shall review and edit all college communication with NMCC publics to assure consistency of image, style, and grammar.  This includes approval of the final copy, design, layout, and photography of all campus publications.

Advertising copy is to be submitted to the Director of Development and College Relations for final editing.  Most publications and/or advertising copy will be reviewed within a 24 hour period; however, it is recommended that the originator allow a one-week turnaround time for editing, if necessary.

If revisions are required, the Director of Development and College Relations will work with the appropriate department to revise its promotional copy.  Published promotional and classified advertisements will be maintained in resource files for use by the college community.  A photo library as well as mailing lists and advertising rate cards will also be available in the development office.

The Director of Development and College Relations will serve as the campus contact person with graphics and printing firms to obtain publications.
