Initial Placement

NMCC’s part-time instruction salary scale ranges from a minimum of $16 to a maximum of $30 per contact hour. Initial placement of part-time faculty on the salary scale will follow these guidelines:

LEVEL 1
$16 per contact hour:

Placement at this level will require the instructor to hold a minimum of an associate degree. However, every effort is made to staff with a minimum of a baccalaureate-prepared instructor.

LEVEL II
$18 per contact hour:

Placement at this level will require the instructor to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.

LEVEL III
$20 per contact hour:

Placement at this level will require the instructor to have a minimum of a master’s or other graduate degree.

Incentives:
*seven years’ teaching experience, add $2 per hour
*over seven years teaching experience, add $2 per hour
*eight years teaching experience at NMCC, add $1 per hour

Full-Time Faculty

Full-time faculty will be compensated in the amount of $30 per hour for part-time or overload credit instruction regardless of academic preparation of length of service.

Substitute Teachers

Substitute teachers will be paid a daily stipend of $50 or a rate per contact hour according to this schedule, whichever amount is greater.

NOTE: Instructors who cannot be placed on this salary scale will be compensated at the rate beginning at $11 per hour and not to exceed $15 per hour. The pay rate will be determined by the Vice-President.

Tutors

Initial compensation for tutors will range from $7.00 to $7.50 per hour. In the event that tutoring needs are such that specialized tutoring is necessary, the Vice-President may deviate from this pay scale upon recommendations of the appropriate department administrator.

Proctors

Examination proctors will be paid at the rate of $15 per contact hour.

Interns

NMCC program interns shall be paid a stipend equal to the NMCC room and board fees. An hourly rate shall be established and the intern paid accordingly to actual hours worked. Payment shall be made on a bi-weekly basis.
